I have been battling with anxiety and depression for 16 years now.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 28 years old (6 years ago).
I have had problems with addiction all my adult life.
On Easter Monday this year, I had a stress, drug, and alcohol-induced breakdown. I have been sober ever since.
I got sober because I was sick and tired of pretending I was ok. I didn't have the energy to continue lying to myself anymore. I needed to sober up long enough to gain the mental clarity needed to get to the root cause of why I used substances the way that I did and sort it out.
I'm far from fixed as I sit here, but I am making progress, slowly but surely.
I will run 60kn on Saturday the 26th of November in a bid to let blokes everywhere know that they are not alone. Your struggles are not uncommon and there is nothing wrong with you for having them. They are common and normal just like seeking help to resolve them is.
