After being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in April 2023, the meaning behind Movember has really resonated with me. As men we tend to just sweep our issues under the rug and don't address our problems until it is too late. It wasn't until I literally choked on water that I went to hospital for investigations. I have endured chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and surgery to remove my oesophagus and part of my stomach. Here I am, 3 years on to tell the tale. I want to encourage everyone to have regular checkups with their health professionals and address an issue before it changes your life forever. You only get one life, we all have so much to live for so please look after yourselves!
